Past training/current titles:
I have a Bachelors of Arts from University of Colorado and spent ten years in the corporate world, not enjoying it much and doing a ton of yoga to compensate.:) After having two babies in two years, my husband and I were trying to adjust to life with small children and took a formal course in transcendental meditation, which totally altered the trajectory of my life. I made a choice not to go back to my cubicle and instead started a successful small business selling salads in mason jars. I obtained my 200hr RYT and started teaching yoga & meditation, which I quickly learned was my true calling. Practicing and teaching yoga and meditation has been a game changer in my life and I’m passionate about sharing it with others.

How would you describe your teaching style?
I love to teach a vigorous vinyasa flow because there is a real meditative quality when you’re moving in conjunction with your breath. I like getting people in the “zone,” where the mind stops wandering and you can fully focus on the present moment. In my class, we flow for a solid chunk of time and then drop into a deep, yin-style stretch session once the body and mind are nice and warm. I am a self-professed anatomy nerd and am obsessed with creating fun, effective & safe sequencing.

What do you like about teaching at The House of Yogi?
I love the overall vibe of the studio – when you walk in, you can tell it’s a strong community where people truly love yoga. The owners are kind and down to earth. The class and workshop offerings are wide in range and offer something for everybody. Between the yoga wall and the enormous supply of props, you can tell that this studio is serious about helping people feel better, which is really the goal!

4 of my favorite things:
Book – A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle – I started highlighting my favorite parts as I was reading it and quickly realized almost every line was highlight-able!
Movie – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – cool story, great soundtrack
Vacation Spot – Vashon Island, WA (also my hometown!)
Podcast – Yogaland with Andrea Ferretti & Jason Crandell

Favorite mantra:
Nothing needs to be done.
